Our Trustees

Andrea Wood - Chairperson

Andrea is currently working as an Interim Operations Director/Programme manager after spending twenty two years in the Financial Service Sector, where she was latterly Head of Card Operations at Barclaycard, and eight years in the Academic Publishing sector as Customer Services Director for Oxford University Press.

Andrea has worked with a number of blue chip companies and in a variety of roles in the Financial Services, Publishing and Retail sectors as an interim, and has in the past been a school governor. She also undertakes some Lean training on an ad hoc basis and is passionate about process efficiency.

She has a maths degree from Oxford University and began her career as a trainee Chartered Accountant.
Her interests include good food and wine, reading, and cycling and the gym.

Scott Fitzsimmons - Trustee


I've been volunteering in the local communitie and across Northamptonshire for 17 years now. I currently sit on two local primary schools as a school governor, vice-chair of Northamptonshire Maternity Services Partnership which shapes the Maternity services across Northamptonshire, Carer Governor for NHFT, volunteer coordinator for Northamptonshire Emergency Services Volunteers as well as being trustee for Service Six.

I have a lot of experience of sitting on Local Boards and Panels shaping services for service users and supporting the operational management of charities.

I've lived in Wellingborough for over 30 years now and understand the issues faced both within the Town and the wider community

Sam Cortese - Treasurer

This is Sam’s first role as a trustee in an organisation such as Service Six and most of his experience is centred around the business world. The majority of Sam’s working life has been spent in financial roles and he is a qualified accountant and a fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants. One of his first roles was as a Financial controller for a company in Wellingborough and then he worked in London for 10 years as a chief accountant, but for the past 20 years or so he has been based in Corby with many secondments abroad.

Sam enjoys angling, (currently secretary of Wellingborough and District Nene Angling Club), tinkering with cars and reading.

Dudley Hughes JP -Trustee

Dudley spent his career in teaching at secondary level. He worked in Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) as a volunteer and then in Ethiopia as well as in the UK. He spent a year in the US in Concord NH on an exchange programme.

He was a magistrate for 28 years and is currently Chairman of the Nene Educational Trust of seven schools and a Trustee of Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust.

He has been a councillor for many years, Mayor of his town, Chairman of the District and Chairman of the County.

Jenny Ludlow- Trustee

Jenny L
Jenny is retired and moved to Northamptonshire in 2012 from South Wales, joining Service Six as a Trustee in 2013.

Jenny spent much of her career in the NHS at Board level; she has also worked in the private and third sector. Her final NHS Board appointment was as a Non Executive Director speaking for the Third Sector and advising the NHS Trust on the contribution to be made by voluntary organisations, and ensuring the development of partnership service planning and delivery.

Jenny established and chaired a successful branch of the Alzheimer’s Society in Merthyr Tydfil, introducing new services and securing Local Authority and other grant funding to employ staff and recruit volunteers.

Jenny’s interests include gardening, singing, travel and walking.

Juliet Smith - Trustee

Juliet Smith retired from the National Health Service after working in mental health; both in the USA and UK for most of her working life. She qualified initially as an Occupational Therapist and later trained as a Counsellor being accredited by the BACP.

She held a wide variety of posts both clinically and later managed both in-patient and community units. She remains interested in the mental health field, as well as focusing on work with young people and families.

Besides working on several management boards her interests are her family, including four grand children of varying ages, theatre, films, gardening and cooking.
