  • Significant skills in the delivery of information and support to young people.
  • Substantial active listening and counselling skills.
  • Ability to effectively use the person-centred approach and Solution Focused therapy in the use of counselling/listening skills
  • Understanding of the concept of volunteering and experience of working with volunteers.
  • Administrative skills and ability to use Microsoft computer software packages
  • Ability to use telephone, text, email, Messaging Services and Web Cam methods of service delivery amongst others
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in partnership with a number of external agencies and professionals concerned with the welfare of young people.
  • Sense of humour
  • Patience and tolerance when working with young people
  • Being energetic, approachable and friendly
  • Requirement to work during evenings and weekends.
